SEPTEMBER 2010 – JANICE DRUIAN & NANCY DASEN

Inspired by big western skies that “allow one to really breathe…to stop for a moment and take it all in”, Janice Druian’s most recent series of oil paintings invite the viewer to experience the emotion of that expansive space and light a long with her. Her work recieved honorable mention in the Yosemite Renaissance XXV exhibit.

Nancy Dasen’s recent work, in both print and clay, involves representations of the land as it might be viewed aerially, some having a topographic or almost map-like quality. Dasen’s fanciful hand-built ceramics, often with inscrutable meanings. are beautifully etched and glazed leaving the clay to speak for itself.
