“Layered Worlds” featuring new edge-pushing digital media by Dorothy Freudenberg and iconic, whimsical acrylics by Lindy Gruger Hanson will open during the First Friday Art Hop on Oct. 1st from 5-9pm. Show runs through October.

Dorothy Freudenberg creates visual imagery by taking apart and reconstructing photos, layering them into collages. She is constantly pushing the envelope of her artistic vision. This new work is inspired by a fusion of Western and Eastern aesthetics and motifs. Splashes of brilliant color are set-off by dramatic graphic black and white backdrops.

Inspired by the trees surrounding Black Butte Ranch, Lindy Gruger Hanson has created a series of paintings featuring magical woodlands. The trees whose bark is tattooed with colorful pattern, stand in community. With layers of meaning, these whimsical trees act as guardians of the forest, interacting with various other elements of nature.
