Ingrid Lustig shows new mixed media works in May

New Works by Ingrid Lustig, featuring landscapes and her iconic birds of prey, grace the walls at Tumalo Art Co., opening during the First Friday Gallery Walk May 1, 2015, from 4-8pm. The show will be displayed all month.

Mixed-media painter Ingrid Lustig has lived in the desert West most of her life. Deeply connected to the native flora and fauna of the High Desert landscape, her art centers on the land’s colors, shapes, animals, and powerful spirit. “In these new works I am pushing the boundaries of abstraction to focus on the essence of the animal—trying to get at its energy and life force”. Her intent is to interpret, celebrate and honor wildlife, to connect in new ways and create a conversation about the nature of wildness. She brings this abstraction to the essence of land forms as well, looking deep below the surface.
