Judy Hoiness was commissioned to paint a 5 x 6’ painting for the newly remodeled Sunriver Library by the Deschutes County Public Library. Save Oregon’s Wildlife and Habitat is an abstracted landscape with wildlife interspersed, and wording—both hidden and obvious, that supports the message in the title, using colors that appear in the library. There will be an opening reception September 14, from 12 to 2pm and Judy will be giving an artists talk about the work.

A photo of one of three fused glass lap guitars made by Sisters artist Susie Zeitner in collaboration with luthier Jayson Bowermen is featured in an article in the Sept/Oct 2024 issue of Bend Magazine highlighting our area’s master luthiers. The guitar is embedded with an electronic feed and can  be amplified and played as a lap steel Guitar. Susie donated the other 2 guitars made with Jason to the “My 2 Hands” Art auction, which benefits the Sisters Folk Festival in 1998, and 1999, both selling to a collector. Susie regularly exhibits her fused glass, steel and found object totems at Tumalo Art Co. Shown above right, the totem presently in the gallery— Morning in Sedona
