Mary Marquiss will be teaching an Abstract Cruciform Design—A Mixed Media Workshop, August 2-4, at Brooks Hall in the Episcopal Church in downtown Bend.

This playful workshop encourages individual style as students create a classic cruciform painting. The process begins by creating unique papers that are layered on a  foundation of acrylic or watercolor paint. The cruciform design emerges as artists integrate torn pieces of Japanese rice paper, old sewing patterns, sheet music, and other ephemera. Contact Mary for more details and questions, email here for registration.

Sarah B. Hansen will be teaching Contemporary Landscapes in Watercolor— a four-week online class through Winslow Art Center. Sarah will teach techniques in painting dynamic, expressive landscapes in watercolor, guiding students in moving away from small details to a broader, more distilled version of nature

David Kinker will be teaching Acrylic Painting Magic: Landscapes, April 5- May 3 through Central Oregon Community College’s Community Education program. Discover how to create powerful visual impact. Start to see the world from an artist’s perspective, build a “toolkit” of skills and concepts to form your own personal painting style, and practice painting in an encouraging environment. All skill levels welcome!

David is also teaching Insight into Modulations as Value in April at Sagebrusher’s Art Society in Bend.
