This painting is part of a series of my interpretation of Bend at twilight, as seen from Pilot Butte looking west. I have amassed many reference photos of that view over the years that I will continue to paint from because I am fascinated with how our little mountain town reveals itself at dusk, when city lights begin to turn on and the sun sets behind the stunning Cascade Mountains that surround us.
