Painted on all sides on a 24 x 24" canvas, The painting is ready to hang. "Across the Lake" is a little different from Helen Brown's typical work. Created with cut and torn rice paper, painted with watercolor, this image grew from a scene of a local lake and mountain. The rice paper pieces originated from other paintings, so if you look closely, you might see the fur of a dog portrait, parts of a painting of a sculpture, and foliage details from a painting of Oregon grape.
