"River Sage" is 12 x 16” and is floated on a complimentary golden yellow mat with a blue frame that highlights the blue tones and the water beyond. Finished framed size is 21 x 24”.

This evocative piece is among the artworks featured in Dorothy Freudenberg's October show at Tumalo Art Co. Like many of her images, it is a product of her many walks along the river, especially in the Old Mill District area. By exaggerating features, she turns the commonplace things like sage and rabbitbrush into a dramatic image. By intensifying colors and shapes, she invites us to see the familiar with "new" eyes.
