Are you interested in taking your own art up a notch? As an experienced oil painting instructor, Katherine Taylor will help identify and grow the areas on your canvas that are essential to creating a captivating work of art. Katherine is co-teaching a workshop at Sagebrushers Art Society with Michael Wise February 18-19, 9am-4pm. The process of painting with oils will be demonstrate a with a simple step-by-step process to create dynamic and powerful oil paintings. This will be an immersive weekend, covering the essentials that will include composition, color mixing, shape simplification, value structure, handling of edges and mark-making. David Kinker will be teaching Insight into Modulations as Value, Thursdays, January 12, 19 and 26 with both a morning and evening class those days. Texture and value will always be a place to start and finish a painting. Learn powerful control of these elements as an aesthetic to visual mixing, and beyond. Join David January 13, 12-1, at Sagebrushers Art Society for Lunch and Learn. Plein air painting on river trips is David’s happy place and teaching painting is also one of his greatest joys. Having just returned from six weeks of travel in Chile and Argentina, David will have numerous small painting to share. He will also share his interpretation of aesthetics in painting, largely influenced by color.
