Sarah B. Hansen will be teaching Gouache in Plein Air, a four-week online class through Winslow Art Center. Sarah will teach techniques in painting impressionistic landscapes en plein air, alla prima, using gouache on panel. Guidance will be given in selecting and packing supplies, as well as how to set up on location.

Study art in Italy with Sarah! Vivacious and Bold Watercolors in Umbria is a 7-day workshop, and will be held at the luxuriously renovated Castello di Petroia near the unique and historic hillside town of Gubbio, Italy. Find more details and contact Martha Jordan at Winslow Art Center.

David Kinker teaches Insight into Modulations as Value at Sagebrushers Art Society, Thursdays, May 4, 11, 18, 25; 9:30AM-Noon. Texture and value will always be a place to start and finish a painting. Learn powerful control of these elements as an aesthetic to visual mixing, and beyond. Building the foundations for better art, we will build upon and add skills as we move toward spring. Lecture, acrylic painting demonstration, and hands on individual instruction.

Mary Marquiss will be teaching an Abstract Cruciform Design—A Mixed Media Workshop, August 2-4, at Brooks Hall in the Episcopal Church in downtown Bend. This playful workshop encourages individual style as students create a classic cruciform painting. The process begins by creating unique papers that are layered on a  foundation of acrylic or watercolor paint. The cruciform design emerges as artists integrate torn pieces of Japanese rice paper, old sewing patterns, sheet music, and other ephemera. Contact Mary for more details and questions, email here for registration. Only a few spots are left.
