Mollie Jurgenson is the featured cover artist for the May Cascade A & E Magazine. Mollie’s style often jumps around in pursuit of a new expression that works on the canvas. She explains why—”there are so many ways to abstract a vision born out of realism.” The cover image, Sweet Mountain Home is an abstract landscape with an emphasis on shapes, color and line work. For Mollie, unexpected changes combined with intuition during the process of painting result in a feeling of being the intermediary or instrument instead of the creator. “This is what artists mean when they say a painting painted itself and what I hope happens in the studio.”
The original artwork is displayed at Tumalo Art Co. this month and available in our online store.
