This 12 x 12” acrylic painting on 2” deep cradled birch board, with side stained natural, is ready to hang.

Working from a photo by Dorothy Freudenberg of Cedar Waxwings feasting on the red berries of Mountain Ash trees, that are all around the Old Mill District in Bend, Oregon, my goal was to capture the gorgeous color of these birds that winter here and the vivid berries. Along the way their personalities came out and their curiousity feels just a bit like the nosy neighbor trying to figure out what’s going on next door.
