The year 2007 provided the most beautiful fall colors I have experienced in Central Oregon.  It was during this time I discovered the scene that is ‘Speaking Fluent Aspen.’  It was a two day process.  The first day consisted of brilliant sunny skies, hours of scouting, and culminated in several photographs taken just after sunset.  I was not satisfied.

The following morning, skies were overcast so I returned to the Black Butte area.  All my scouting from the the day before paid great dividends as I quickly identified this composition and recorded the scene on 4"x5" sheets of film with my wooden field camera.  'Speaking Fluent Aspen' is available in both vertical and horizontal formats.
