"Fellow photographer Ric Ergenbright and I embarked on a overnight photo trip to Mt. Hood in mid June. Winding through Oregon's high desert landscape, we were stopped in our tracks by a profusion of spring wildflowers. Following several hours of creativity, we proceeded north to Lost Lake on the northwest side of Mt. Hood. We rested, and prepared for what would hopefully be an epic evening show. As evening took shape, a wonderful lenticular cloud began wrapping around the left side of the mountain, and the full moon rose above the right side as evening light bathed the slopes. This culminated in the creation of 'Mount Hood Moonrise'. The following morning we woke to overcast skies, which allowed photographing blooming Beargrass and Rhododendron flowers. This entire experience opened my eyes to the immense creative possibilities in a brief 36 hour period of time, when timed right." —Bruce Jackson
