Dorothy Freudenberg grew up on the water and some of her most pleasant memories are of drifting along or floating on water. In a style similar to that of the impressionists, this piece is meant to convey that lazy, summer day-dreaming mood, where all cares are left behind, and the sounds and colors of trees, water, and reflections are all that are needed to induce a reverie in the fulness of summer.
