8 x 10 oil on panel with an attractive 3” espresso frame. “Lagoon” is an experiment with a new paint color I’d purchased called Scarlet Lake. My intention was to surround this brilliant red with as many muted but interesting colors as I could, without detracting from the scarlet hue itself, which was used in the main flower. My reference for this painting was a friend’s large lily pond.”
