Description

This 24 x 48” acrylic on canvas is literally “Overflowing” onto its narrow, hand-painted black frame. Ready to hang with a finish size of 24.5 x 48.5". 

I grabbed an old canvas I wanted to retire, tipped it on its side, and went to work right on top. I wanted to try using the colors below as a vibrant underpainting. Unexpected benefit : the paint was applied so thickly to the first rendition that it added extra texture when I drew the paint across the surface. I have likely painted this particular waterfall more than any other motif : large, small, vertical, horizontal, from above and below, and even as a triptych. But they are all different and it doesn’t get old. I had been hoping to get back up that trail in the fall, but the snow came too early. Painting it is the next best thing.
