Kim Chavez
Kim Chavez is an Oregon artist inspired by nature who career began over 37 years ago. Though Kim began her art career as a ceramicist, building the forms in clay became a natural path to sculpting in bronze and she has never looked back.
Her bronze sculptures reflect a fascination with the high desert, wildlife and a sensitivity to the environment. She has traveled extensively through the Northwest and Southwest researching native wildlife and culture and spends many hours designing and sculpting each piece. Her style projects simplicity, using stylized lines combined with fine detail. Each sculpture is further enhanced with warm patinas that are also inspired by the subtle tints in nature.
A member of Tumalo Art Co. when we first moved to the Old Mill District, Kim has now rejoined the gallery as a represented artist. Her sculpture uses stylized, simplified lines, combined with fine detail. Each sculpture is further enhanced with warm patinas inspired by nature. She has traveled extensively through the North and Southwest researching native wildlife and culture and has many public pieces displayed throughout Central Oregon. Kim’s work is often defined by a wink of humor as shown in the sculptures here.
